Showcase
Welcome to my showcase for the work I have created during my time in the Michigan State University's Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program. Throughout this program I have learned a tremendous amount about Technological, Pedagogical, And Content Knowledge (TPACK), learning inside and outside the classroom, technology tools/programs and so much more. I have categorized my graduate work into three areas including, lesson plans, learning, and technology.
Lesson Plans
Students learn about National Landmarks and Symbols in second grade using 21st century pedagogy and Project Based Learning. During CEP 810, we learned about what 21st century learning looks like and how we can incorporate it into our lessons. During this time, I learned that technology doesn't have to be front and center of these lessons but they also should be student centered and utilize collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.

During CEP 822, we explored a technology tool called the Makey Makey and incorporated it into a lesson plan. In this lesson students identify a rule in the classroom that is not being followed. Students use Scratch and the Makey Makey to create a data tracker to help enforce this rule. During this unit, students learn about coding, circuits, and analyzing data. While developing this lesson plan, I learned how to better incorporate a technology piece with specific math content. The Makey Makey isn't just used for coding purposes!

In this lesson, students are practicing making certain amounts of money using coins. But instead of using traditional coins, students are utilizing a Makey Makey program that is already created for them. While developing this lesson, it dawned on me that students do not have to make a technology piece with the Makey Makey, but instead they can use an already made game with it to review. Technology can be used in so many other ways!

Learning
Personalized Learning is at the forefront of our District and how to implement it at all age levels. In this blog post and Prezi creation, I have taken a critical look at the Wicked Problem of "How can we incorporate technology and Personalized Learning" in our schools in an effective way. This project taught me that even though a District tells us to implement something, we still need to examine what we are doing from a critical standpoint.

During CEP 810, we learned about networking, personally and professionally. I made a mind map about my professional learning network. I realized I have a lot of people that I can go to for collaboration and/or help. Check out my blog post to see my Professional Learning Network Mind Map.

Learning is a complex and very important topic, especially from an educator point of view. Learning can happen in many different ways and in many different places or experiences. In this writing piece, I explore what learning means to me and what role I have when learning is happening.

A classroom community that fosters collaboration and communication has always been a must have in my own room. We can help to foster these with equity oriented conversations and relationships. But we can also create this environment with the set up or design of a classroom. Check out my blog post to learn how I would set up my classroom and reasons behind it.

Technology
The TPACK Framework has been front and center during my coursework for MAET. During this video, I had to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in an unconventional way which entirely relates to TPACK and my classroom. During this course project, I learned a lot about giving students the right tools for activities and lessons so they can succeed! Check out the video and blog post to see how it all connects!
